Margaret Monachelli, B.A., D.V.M.

Dr. Monachelli is experienced in all aspects of small animal medical, surgical and dental care. Dr. Monachelli holds a B.A in psychology from Franklin and Marshall College and completed her post graduate pre-medical education at Columbia University. While at Columbia, Dr. Monachelli participated in studies and co-authored several articles in medical journals including Neurosurgery and the Journal of Cerebral Blood Flow. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Cornell University where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Dr. Monachelli worked in mixed animal practice in Plattsburgh, NY and Bennington, VT before moving to southern NH and focusing on small animal medicine and surgery in 1998. While practicing in Vermont, Dr. Monachelli had the honor of coauthoring a case study of one of her sick patients with Drs. Cummings and deLahunta from Cornell. Dr. Monachelli settled into New Hampshire with her husband John, raised their two girls in Merrimack. She practiced for 8 years in Amherst and then 6 years in Nashua before opening Brookline Animal Hospital in 2012. She is proud of the high level of patient and client care that is provided by the team at Brookline Animal Hospital. Dr. Monachelli is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Animal Hospital Association (AHAA).

Mary Ellen Blake, B.S., V.M.D.

Dr. Mary Ellen Blake completed her veterinary training at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. Dr. Blake specializes in small animal medicine, having practiced since 2005 in Southern New Hampshire following graduation from veterinary school. She first practiced under the mentorship of Dr. Margaret Monachelli.

Dr. Blake is dedicated to practicing the highest quality of medicine, and is thrilled to rejoin Dr. Monachelli and her team at Brookline Animal Hospital.

Dr. Blake is a member of the American Veterinary Medication Association (AVMA) and New Hampshire Veterinary Medical Association (NHVMA). In her spare time, she enjoys the company of her three daughters, her husband, Tim and their dogs Olaf, Mabel, and Lela.

C.J. Churchill, B.S., M.S., D.V.M.

Prior to receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tufts University (MA), Dr. Churchill earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from The University of Massachusetts – Amherst. Following an internship at Darien (CT) Animal Hospital, Dr. Churchill practiced for seven years with Dr. Margaret Monachelli in Amherst, NH, and for 11 years at a progressive multi-doctor veterinary practice in northern Massachusetts.

Dr. Churchill practices general medicine, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery including T.T.A. (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement) surgery. She is dedicated to her patients and clients, and provides the highest quality care utilizing new applications and technology. Dr. Churchill is a member of the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) and the AAFT (American Association of Feline Practitioners). In her spare time, Dr. Churchill enjoys her family and pets, as well as her lifelong love of horses and riding.


Christine (Chris) Ritner
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Chris has worked side by side with Dr. Monachelli for nine years, beginning at Amherst Animal Hospital, Animal Hospital at Ferry Road, Animal Hospital of Nashua, and now at Brookline Animal Hospital. Chris is our most senior staff member and assists in all aspects of patient care. One of Chris’s strengths is bonding with patients, and staying in close communication with you, our valued client.

Judy Blanchette, Veterinary Technician
Judy has 20 years experience working as a veterinary technician, including eight years working with Dr. Monachelli in Amherst, NH. Her professional interests include surgery, pain management, post operative/ recovery nursing care, and client education. Judy enjoys working with the high quality care team at Brookline Animal Hospital. She lives in Milford with her dogs, Boomer, Elsa and Clover and a new kitten named Gordon. In her free time, Judy enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Amy Armstrong, Certified Veterinary Technician
Amy graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Zoology. She has been in the veterinary field since 1999 and has been a Certified Veterinary Technician since 2006. She is a member of the New Hampshire Veterinary Technician Association and the National Veterinary Technician Association. Prior to joining Brookline Animal Hospital, Amy was an animal keeper at Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and was the supervisor of anesthesia and surgery at a large specialty and emergency veterinary hospital in New Hampshire. Amy’s special interests in the veterinary field include anesthesia, surgery, hospital management, and client service. Amy is passionate about her work and loves spending her day surrounded by animals. She lives on a family farm with her three dogs (Rusty, Sully and Patrick), Nigerian Dwarf Goats (Skipper and Gilligan), horses (Joe, Poco, and Leo) and many chickens. When Amy is not at the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, horseback riding, gardening, and enjoying time outside.

Kailey Capsalis, Veterinary Technician
Kailey joined Brookline Animal Hospital in January, 2015. She has concentrated her work here in the area of outpatient care. She enjoys working with patients and their human companions. Kailey is especially interested in increasing her knowledge and skills in the areas of emergency mediciine, critical care, and as a surgical technician. In her free time, Kailey enjoys spending time with her dogs, friends, and family.

Nadine Monachelli, Technician Assistant
Nadine is Dr. Monachelli’s baby! Nadine has consistently worked with Dr. Monachelli at Brookline Animal Hospital, gaining valuable patient care and client experience as a Veterinary Technician Assistant. Nadine is currently a freshman at St. Michael’s College in Vermont.

Nicole Landry, Technician Assistant
Nicole is a technician assistant and has been working part time at Brookline Animal Hospital since March of 2013. One day she hopes to become a veterinarian and what better place to start than with Dr. Monachelli! Nicole likes to stay active and involved in extracurricular activities. Nicole is currently a freshman at James Madison University.

Olivia Simmerman, Technician Assistant
Livi began working with Brookline Animal Hospital in January, 2015. She is a junior at Hollis Brookline High School. Livi works with us part time, around her school and cheerleading schedule. She aspires to be a nurse in the future, and her dream college is the University of Vermont in Burlington. Livi is honored to work at Brookline Animal Hospital with our doctors and staff to gain experience and help her learn more about the general medical field.

Jessica Croft, Technician Assistant
Jessica has joined Brookline Animal Hospital this Fall, and works part time as her school schedule allows. Jessica is a junior at North Middlesex High School. She is especially interested in pharmaceutical areas of veterinary care, and is happy to work with Brookline and the experienced staff in any capacity.

Cassandra Dunn, Certified Veterinary Technician
Cassandra joined Brookline Animal Hospital in August, 2016. Cassandra is excited about the opportunity to work with Brookline after hearing wonderful comments about how well pets and their caregivers are treated while maintaining a very busy, professional animal hospital. Cassandra has known since middle school that she wanted to make a difference in the field of animal care. She attended Becker College to earn a Bachelor of Veterinary Science Degree to became a CVT ( Certified Veterinary Technician) before graduation in 2012. Cassandra enjoys all aspects of the veterinary profession, but does have special interest in anesthesia. In her free time, Cassandra enjoys the outdoors with her Border Collie, who at age 15 still loves to hike in the woods and run trails. Cassandra also loves fishing and horseback riding in her free time.
